Hoffenheim have strengthened their midfield by signing
Kerem Demirbay from Bundesliga rivals SV Hamburg, the club said
Wednesday.
The 23-year-old Demirbay has signed a three-year contract with
Hoffenheim after moving for an unconfirmed fee, reported to be around
1.7 million euros (1.9 million dollars).
Demirbay made only three appearances for Hamburg and has played most
of his career on loan in the second division with Kaiserslautern and
then Fortuna Dusseldorf.
"The intensity with which Hoffenheim came for me is an honour and I
have an obligation to return the trust placed in me," Demirbay told
the club homepage. "I want to prove myself in the Bundesliga and see
the optimal conditions here to make that step."
